New Forest Food Festival

Challenge

The New Forest Food Festival unites rich local produce, artisan food enthusiasts and creators, internationally-renowned chefs and restaurants, and unique skills and intricate crafts from across the New Forest in Hampshire.

Set within a highly competitive events space, the festival needed a brand identity design that could capture its artisanal nature while appealing to a broad audience.

Balancing a premium, craft-led feel with an accessible and welcoming tone was key to ensuring the festival resonated with both dedicated food lovers and casual visitors.

Our task was to create a visual identity that captures the creativity, quality, and essence of the festival, while working consistently across both physical and digital touchpoints.

Our solution

The visual identity reflects the brand's values with bespoke hand-drawn typography, chosen to evoke a sense of craftsmanship, authenticity and human touch. This is complemented by an icon symbolising food and its connection to the New Forest.

The colour palette features an enticing blend of muted greens, berry reds, and burnt oranges, inspired by the flora and fauna of the surrounding landscape.

Designed for versatility, the identity translates seamlessly across signage, marketing materials, merchandise, and digital platforms, ensuring a cohesive and recognisable brand presence throughout the festival.

A great experience on every device.

As mobile browsing increases, it’s important to build websites with responsive design to deliver a great user experience on all devices.

We created a website that balances strong visuals with clear navigation, making it easy for visitors to explore the festival, browse vendors and plan their experience both in advance and on the day. A mobile-first approach ensures key information remains accessible and user-friendly, even when visitors use their phones.

Each application reinforces the festival’s personality, helping it stand out while staying true to its local, artisanal roots.

The Impact

Creating the New Forest Food Festival brand identity and website from scratch resulted in positioning the festival as both high-quality and approachable. The strong visual presence across every marketing collateral and friendly user experience that gives visibility to each of the vendors supported audience confidence and growth. During its first year online, the website attracted over 100 vendor applications, and in less than three years, the festival has grown to 8,000 plus attendees across the weekend.
The clear and engaging brand experience, along with dedicated user journeys and flexible design systems, provides a foundation for future growth, allowing the festival to evolve while maintaining a consistent and recognisable identity.
